Upcoming Courses

The CRSL Online Institute is currently offering several opportunities to enroll in Course 1 of the CRSL Foundations Professional Certificate program,  Historical and Community-based Epistemologies. This course delves into historical continuities that are often invisibilized in our systems, practices, and ways of working in educational contexts. One of the reasons that racial injustices are so intractable is that we, as educational leaders, often do not recognize the oppressive, colonial structures we have inherited and unwittingly perpetuate. We must become critically-historically literate to rectify this situation and begin to visibilize historical discourses that are still with us today. However, seeing these historical legacies and recognizing them for what they are in our school systems is not enough; we also need to have praxis for ethical action. This means recognizing that our minoritized students', parents', and communities' ways of knowing and being are often in opposition to how we have been enculturated to think, act and interpret the world through our school leadership lens.
